One of the nicest things to be able to do with shoes that you love and don't want to throw away is to try to work on them. Many people will resurface their shoes or perhaps add layers to them to protect them. Other people take to using paint or other colorful chemicals to add color to the shoes to bring back the vibrancy that the shoe once had. No matter which way you are going to try, you are going to notice that it fades after a while. This is why many people choose to undergo Strassing for their shoes instead of simply adding layers of material or paint.

Simply put, Strassing is when a person adds gems or stones to the shoes that he or she wears. Not only does this help the shoe look nicer, it adds a flair to the entire outfit the person wears and will grab attention. Designer shoe makers often use Strassing when they create shoes and that is why we will see large portions of the shoe covered in gemstones, or tiny rhinestones that shimmer and glimmer in the light. This is called Strassing and is a great way to beautify the shoe and grab the attention of people.

If you want to Strass your shoes just for fun or perhaps to create a newer looking shoe, you need have glue and gemstones. First, you need to get some type of glue that is going to be able to adhere not only to the gemstone itself, but to the shoe. This type of glue needs to also be weather resistant or you'll end up losing the gemstone and leaving a nasty mark on your shoe. Super glue is one of the best types of materials that you can use because it is pretty durable and won't damage your shoe, just be careful to apply it as to keep any problems from happening.

You can Strass nearly any type of shoe. The original Strassing was only on the heel of a high heel shoe. The heel was decorated entirely in Strass in order to make it prettier, but also to direct attention to the ankle and leg of the person wearing it. This is a great way to create an eye-catching item on a shoe that would otherwise be plain and boring. Be sure to try to Strass your shoes to make sure they match your clothing and skin tone!
